This region of Finnish Lapland has the most winter sports facilities in the country. In fact, millions of tourists come every year to enjoy the skiing, snowboarding, take a snowmobile tour or a walk with snowshoes. The biggest winter resort in Finland is also found here, internationally renowned for its ski jumping competitions, whether Freestyle or Nordic Combined, which mixes slides with jumps. During the summer, on the other hand, this is a very popular destination for water sports, as it is a region complete with lakes. Sailing, fishing, kayaking and hiking in the forests are all popular here.
