Bohinj

This huge glacial valley is considered one of the most beautiful natural areas in Slovenia. It is located in the Julian Alps, where you can practice different mountain sports depending on the season. In the warmer months you can visit the beach, where the shoreline is composed of small stones. The best views of the area are obtained from Mount Voguel, which is accessed by the Ukanc cable car. In its vicinity is the Savica waterfall, where the largest waterfall is 78 meters tall and is one of the most popular attractions in Slovenia. Bohinj Lake is also home to the towns of Studor and Stara Fuzina, where most of the hotels in the area are located, as well as bars, shops and restaurants. In the latter, you can find the Alpine Milk Museum, where you can learn about the manufacture of local cheeses.
